CLEVELAND HEIGHTS ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF
NEIGHBORHOOD REDEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH, 10/8/2020 - The City of Cleveland Heights recently announced the launch of the Neighborhood Redevelopment Program (NRP), that will focus on the construction of new infill housing on City/Land Bank controlled vacant properties. The goal of the new program is to bring increased investment, vibrancy, economic activity and new tax revenue to the City.

"We are excited to move forward with this transformative neighborhood redevelopment project," City Manager Susanna Niermann O'Neil noted. "Housing is the City's highest priority and this project represents potential major new investment for Cleveland Heights and positions the City for additional growth and redevelopment in the future."

As part of the launch of the NRP, the City has released a Request for Qualifications and Preliminary Development Proposals (RFQ/RFP) for the first Phase of the program. The City is seeking a qualified development partner or partners with a solid track record in redevelopment to construct new infill housing on various City/Land Bank owned vacant lots in the City. The first Phase of this program is focused on redevelopment of up to 42 vacant lots along Nelaview Road, Greyton Road, Dresden Road, Hanover Drive and Desota Avenue.

"The potential for new residential construction in neighborhoods in close proximity to the Noble and Taylor Road Corridors could certainly be a game changer for our community," stated Tim Boland, Director of Economic Development for the City. "The overall strong residential market locally makes this the right time to launch this program and make these lots available for redevelopment."
