We are fortunate to have a great resource here in the Heights. The Home Repair Resource Center is performing its housing counseling services remotely for mortgage/foreclosure delinquency, rental assistance, utility service resources, home repair referrals and assistance, and financial coaching and planning.

The CH-UH School District has been chosen to receive 200,000 pounds of produce to give to our families and community members, thanks to the Farmers to Families program. Heights High School will serve as the pickup spot from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday May 28, June 4, June 11, June 18 and June 25. This will be a drive-through to receive a twenty-pound box of assorted produce. The boxes typically contain items such as apples, potatoes, carrots, onions, and strawberries, but can vary. There will be no paperwork or anything to show; just drive up and receive a box of fresh food. This initiative is thanks to Mr. Ted Copeland, father of Roxboro Middle School teacher Dani Copeland. Mr. Copeland owns Perfect Pact, which received a grant from the USDA to make our District a site for Farmers to Families.

As a reminder to those that may be looking for a job: The State of Ohio has a special COVID-19 job site that has a number of job openings with immediate needs.

Freshwater Cleveland provides a current list in their “Who’s Hiring” series where growing companies with open positions are featured.

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank needs donations of money, time and food. The demand for food has been extraordinary. If you need help, please contact their Help Center by calling 216.738.2067 or visit GreaterClevelandFoodBank.org/Get-Help/Help-Center. If you can donate, you can do so online at GreaterClevelandFoodBank.org/Give or call 216-535-2051 to donate over the phone.

As a reminder, we are once again asking that you temporarily refrain from setting out large, bulk items for pickup on your trash day until we resume full operations. You can always bring your bulk items to the service garage at 14200 Superior Road, where dumpsters are available for your use. We appreciate your patience and assistance as we work with a reduced staff during this health crisis.
