CORONAVIRUS RELIEF BILL FINANCIAL FAQs
Stimulus checks intended to ease the economic impact of the  coronavirus pandemic will soon be on their way. Under the  Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) Act, most Americans will get one-time direct cash payments of up to $1,200 and couples will get up to $2,400. Families will get an additional $500 per child. High-income earners will get less and the highest earners will get nothing at all. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said he expected most people to get their payments within three weeks.

Added unemployment benefits will also be processed in the coming weeks.

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS
Stimulus Check Scam – You may receive an email or phone call from somebody claiming to be from the IRS or another federal agency claiming that you need to go to a website and provide certain information in order to get your stimulus check. They will collect enough information to compromise and steal money from your bank accounts. No federal agency will ever contact you through an unsolicited phone call or email. Information on the stimulus program should only be secured through reputable sources, like www.irs.gov/.

Scammers are also committing online and cyber attacks, working to take advantage of people during the Coronavirus epidemic. Read how to help keep scammers at bay: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/features/coronavirus-scams-what-ftc-doing.

OUR PARKS REMAIN OPEN…
But equipment and facilities are closed for your safety and that of our community. Social distancing and sanitation made this action mandatory. Please stay away from our basketball courts, tennis courts, ball fields, skate park and playgrounds. Enjoy the outdoors but be sure to comply with the CDC-issued social distancing recommendation.
