Stability and continuity of critical City services is our goal during this ongoing crisis. I invite you to call us or visit our website to explore how you can still do business with the City from the comfort and safety of your home. I’d also like to share a resource guide of federal, state and local assistance that you may find helpful.

I hope this additional information will also be helpful:
• Tax and Voting Deadlines Extended
The IRS (, the State of Ohio ( and RITA ( have all extended the tax filing deadlines to July 15, 2020.

• All-Mail Primary Extended through April 28
Ohio lawmakers have extended mail voting in the state’s primaries until April 28.
The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections’ office is closed, but it is encouraging anyone who has not already voted in the Primary Election to complete and submit a vote-by-mail ballot application. The board will continue to accept vote-by-mail ballot applications for the postponed March 17 primary election until further notice. Vote-by-mail ballot applications can be printed from Voters may also call 216-443-8683 and follow the phone prompts to ask the board to mail the application.

I’d also like to clarify the information about our officer who tested positive for COVID 19. The Governor’s order at that time was to limit the size of a gathering to 50 or less. The police officer attended a small get-together with much fewer in attendance than the order directed. They were not in violation of any government order at that time. The other officers in attendance have been quarantined and are being monitored carefully. Our concern now is for a full recovery of our officer and the health and well-being of the other officers.

Lastly, just a reminder of the importance of social distancing. This is especially important as the weather improves and more and more people are taking advantage of our beautiful parks. Please keep 6 feet of distance between yourself and non-family members while enjoying the outdoors. Unfortunately, the basketball and tennis courts need to remain closed and we appreciate your cooperation. And, please keep away from the playgrounds as they are not sanitized and could result in the spread of the virus.
