Update from Cleveland Heights City Manager Tanisha R. Briley - March 25, 2020

I’d like to commend our Police and Fire Departments for the exceptional service they continue to provide to our city. As a reminder to everyone, it is important that residents do not call 911 if experiencing fevers or coughing. The exception to this would be if you are experiencing difficulty breathing. These unnecessary calls put a strain on our resources, and supplies are limited at this time. Please be sure to call your doctor or an urgent care facility for diagnosis and recommended course of action.

Recently, we learned that one of our police officers tested positive for the COVID 19 virus. He is being quarantined and treated at this time. We have no other confirmations of infection in the Police Department and exceptional measures have been taken to protect our other officers and the public. This is a reminder that we need to heed the Governors orders to stay at home unless it is essential to go out and to maintain the social distancing of six feet.

Our Public Works Department has also taken measures to protect its employees while continuing to maintain normal operations. We will begin picking up yard waste Kraft bags starting on March 30. Loose-leaf collection will also begin on March 30 and will continue through April 30. And, we appreciate your holding off on bulk disposal until this crisis has passed.

In case you haven’t heard, the Cleveland Heights Community Center will be offering free online Zumba classes starting tonight and available Monday/Wednesday/Friday at 6:00pm. Hola! Here’s the invitation for the Zumba class at 6:00 PM EST.

Stay tuned for more opportunities from our Parks and Recreation Department.

It is wonderful to be a part of such a special community where neighbors look out for each other and residents continue to support our local businesses. Once again, thank you for your cooperation and patience.
