The Director of Finance serves as the chief fiscal officer of the City. The Department of Finance consists of the Divisions of Accounting, and Treasury. All financial transactions are monitored for accuracy and compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
Auditing & Reporting
Results of the City's fiscal operations are audited annually and are presented in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Download and view the 2017 CAFR (PDF). The department develops annual multi-revenue forecasts, assists other city departments with proper accounting and purchasing procedures and administers the City's investment and debt programs.
The City of Cleveland Heights subjects its financials to an independent audit each year with the State of Ohio Auditor's Office. The Auditor of State’s office presents awards to public entities that meet specific criteria during their financial audit. The City has received the Auditor of State Award (PDF) for previous financial statement filings and is in good standing with the Auditor of State.
Income Tax Information
Cleveland Heights municipal income tax is collected by the Regional Income Tax Agency (also known as R.I.T.A.), a nonprofit governmental agency.

City of Cleveland Heights Check Return Policy
If a check is returned unpaid, your signature gives the City of Cleveland Heights permission to debit your account electronically for the original check amount plus a service fee of $25.
