Housing Department

All Interior inspections on occupied properties have been temporarily suspended. If there is an immediate life/safety concern that warrants an interior inspection of the property, inspectors will determine if the environment and conditions are at an acceptable safety level.

Exterior inspections will continue, but be limited to Point of Sales and complaints.

New Point of Sale inspections or re-inspections on vacant properties may still be performed if a lockbox combination is provided.

New Point of Sale inspections on occupied properties will only receive an exterior inspection with the interior to be subject to inspection at a later date. The City will also review any private inspection report conducted in order to complete the interior inspection on a Point of Sale.  Violations noted on a private inspection pertaining to any health, safety or class “A” violations will be reviewed and may be transferred onto the City’s report in lieu of a future inspection.

The City will also review any photos and receipts for work performed to determine if compliance can be granted for any re-inspection. A homeowner or a real estate agent may also contact our staff to arrange a FaceTime or Skype session.  Documentation can be mailed, dropped off at the City Hall drop box, emailed to individual staff members, or emailed to Inspectorhousing@clvhts.com.

Anyone requesting an inspection, including Point of Sale must download the forms from the City’s Form’s Page and send the form either by using the City Hall drop box in the circular drive or by mail with the accompanying payment to City Hall and then an inspection will be scheduled. For more info and forms please visit the Point of Sale Inspections page.
