Water
The water system of Cleveland Heights serves the city's residents, along with approximately 2,100 customers in University Heights who are on the City's network because of the hydraulic configuration of the distribution system. The City purchases water from the City of Cleveland.
Cleveland Heights buys water from the City of Cleveland and distributes it to residents via 140 miles of City-owned water mains. The 16,000 water meters in the city are read through a mobile-equipped van, by means of radio waves. The automatic meter reading system allows the City to send out monthly water bills within fifteen days of the meter reading, so that sudden high bills can be investigated quickly for possible leaks. This division also repairs and maintains water mains, service lines and fire hydrants.
All public water systems are required to distribute a comprehensive report detailing water quality to their residents. For a copy of the 2010 Consumer Confidence Water Quality Report, click here.
Sewer Maintenance
Sewer Maintenance is responsible for the maintenance of both storm and sanitary sewer mains in Cleveland Heights. Storm inlet, catch basin repairs and manhole covers are also maintained.
