Capital Projects provides construction management for the City's major construction projects. Through competitive bidding for contracts where expenditures exceed fifteen thousand dollars, securing multiple proposals for expenditures of less than that amount, and qualification-based selection of consulting engineers and architects, the City seeks to maximize the value of construction dollars spent while assuring work performed is of high quality and meets the needs of its users. Investigation of environmental issues and special projects, such as serving as a liaison to outside utility providers, are assigned to this office, as are the management of all bid documents for equipment and service purchases.
